It's true! I'm taking the big plunge into CSA farming! I will be humanely raising chickens, turkeys, and geese for your table in the future. Sign up by April 1st. There is a very limited amount of shares available. I will post this information at the store site also.
Thanks for the support!
I want to give a big thank you to my first online buyer! This person has been a friend of mine since high school days. I really appreciate the support. With having my first online buyer I have come to realize there is a big bug in my ordering system. This is mainly caused by me being cheap and not wanting to pay for a website. Basically when you order a soap or lotion it doesn't specify what scent or type you want. If you could send an email to me letting me know along with your order that would be terrific! I also edited my store page so those instructions should be on the title page and product page.
I plan on actually buying my webpage at the beginning of next year. That will resolve all issues! Thanks again for your patience and support!
Well, the last couple of days have been quite warm. In the upper 40's, plus it's been foggy out for days straight. I feel perhaps I am turning into a mushroom? Actually I enjoy the foggy winter days. Fog has always interested me since I was young. I was told that being in fog is the same as flying through clouds!! Of course that would trigger anybody's imagination. It just totally sucks to drive in...Oh! the pleasures of being an adult.
In preparation for the warm up I threw down a bunch of wood chips in the bedding for the goats and chickens. This would help absorb excess moisture and make things smell better. Plus I limed the heck out of the cement floor in the barn. The cements sweats so bad when it's humid out. This could cause hoofed animals to slip easily, with the lime down there is more grip. All in all, I'm pretty happy with how nice the barn actually stayed during this short warm up period. It still smelled nice with minimal mushiness! Hooray!
With the gloom, and gloom, and gloom, the chickens haven't laid eggs in like, two months! I'm super bummed, about this. During the spring, summer, and fall months my chickens lay eggs like crazy! The money I get from selling their eggs pays for their feed with maybe $10 extra each month. I know chickens need time off too, I just wish they would start up again soon.
But on to soap! My batch of activated charcoal soap is now available for purchase! This black soap suds up kind to a grayish color but won't leave any color on your skin. I named this soap after my black buck, Coltrane. There is a bit of tea tree essential oil in this also. You can look up for yourself what activated charcoal could do for you skin. I have read that it is good for people with skin issues. But you decide yourself. Regardless, this soap looks, smells, and lathers up AWESOME! Plus all my soaps and lotions will make great local holiday gifts. You can purchase them on this website, or send me an email with any questions.
Thanks again for the support!
