'Howdy to you all!
This is quit the long title for a blog, I hope it gets gets everyone's attention as these are two very important and time sensitive farm topics. The quick and easy news is that I am offering a fall share sign up for broiler chickens!
Sign up on my website to purchase as little as one bird. I have on farm processing and same day pick up. The chickens are on rotating pasture and fed antibiotic free grain. They are so fun to raise, and I am so happy to be able to process on the farm. They don't get trucked off to a processing plant. You can find all the details on my store page, but feel free to email any questions! There are only 50 available, so get them while you can!
The second bit is about San Clemente Island goats. I just had an opportunity arise today to purchase up to two does available in Minnesota. The location is just under 2 hours one way, which is a unique opportunity in itself. Most other breeders of these goats live 8+ hours away and in far reaching states. Having this opportunity to travel a fraction of the distance is one I really want to take advantage of.
I was planning on traveling to this farm anyway as I am making plans to pick up a hermaphrodite SCI goat. I just need extra goat pressure on my pastures, and I wanted to possibly teach this little goat to lead and pull a cart.
SOOOO! I quickly put together a go fund me campaign. I'm asking for $500 to help go toward one or possibly both does that are available. Having two more goat does that can get bred this fall will help the farm out in so many ways. It will diversify the genetic pool, this in turn will help improve my breeding program and in the future make these goats available to more people interested in purchasing these goats. This will also help provide milk for my slowly growing goat milk soap business. I love making goat milk soap, but selling this soap also helps provide and opportunity to promote and educate people about this breed.
While had had far future plans of traveling and picking up goats in other states, this opportunity will help keep traveling at bay.
You can visit my gofundme page or find it on my business facebook page. Any little bit helps and will be GREATLY appreciated. I also hope to set up a way for me to give back. I want to give goat milk soap back to folks that donated. I'm still trying to figure out if that is an option on gofundme or if it's something I just do myself.
Once again, please feel free to send me any questions. Below I will post the picture of the beautiful SCI does that are available.
I truly appreciate your help and your support!
